An avid music fan and a frenzied experimenter from a young stage, Long Island, New York's Madison Elle Beer started posting videos on YouTube of her singing covers of various well-known songs as 13 years old in 2012. Within a few months, pop superstar Justin Bieber came across her version of Etta James' "At Last" and shared it with his 25-million-plus Twitter followers. After media coverage was over, she signed a agreement with Island Records and was also given a contract as a manager by Bieber's manger. Beer also appeared in an insignificant role in Louder Than Words, an independent film that was directed by David Duchovny. It premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in the latter part of 2013. Her debut single with the melismatic, poppy "Melodies," also saw release later in the year.
